Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 pack of wonton wrappers (about 50 wrappers)

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Sweet chili sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with a bit of water using your fingertip. Fold the wrapper over to create a triangle, pressing down to seal tightly.

To create a cute pleated shape, make a pinch at the midpoint of the long edge of the sealed triangle and fold it over to one side, pressing to seal. Repeat this step for the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop in the wontons in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serve the crispy cream cheese wontons hot with sweet chili sauce on the side for dipping.
