Ingredients

1 cup fresh cranberries

1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon honey (or agave syrup for a vegan option)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Tortilla chips or vegetable sticks, for serving

Instructions

Start by rinsing the fresh cranberries and removing any stems or damaged berries. Place them in a saucepan with a splash of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until the cranberries pop and break down, about 5-7 minutes. Let this mixture cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, lime juice, and honey. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Fold in the sautéed cranberries, chopped jalapeño, red onion, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Transfer the mixture into a serving dish and spread it evenly. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and garnish with freshly chopped cilantro.

Serve the dip with tortilla chips or fresh vegetable sticks for dipping. Optional: For a warm version, bake the dip in an oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
