Ingredients

2 boneless beef steaks (approximately 1 inch thick)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 shallot, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons heavy cream

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Begin by seasoning both sides of the steaks generously with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the steaks and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, covered with foil to keep warm.

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, introduce the chopped shallot and minced garlic, cooking for about 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.

Stir in the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce, mixing well to combine with the shallots and garlic.

Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer, scraping the bottom of the pan to loosen any flavorful bits stuck to the skillet. Allow the broth to reduce by half, which should take about 5 minutes.

Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.

Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them for a minute until fully heated through.

Plate the steaks and drizzle generously with the creamy sauce. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color.
