Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 tablespoon ginger, grated

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 package of wonton wrappers (round or square)

Cooking oil, for frying

Soy sauce and chili sauce, for dipping

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped green onions, grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the chicken mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Moisten the edges of the wonton with a small amount of water using your finger. Fold the wonton in half, pressing firmly to seal. If using round wrappers, you can also fold the edges together to create a purse shape.

Repeat the process until all the chicken mixture is used up.

Heat about 2 inches of cooking oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Carefully add the wontons, working in batches as necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally for even cooking.

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the wontons to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serve immediately with soy sauce and chili sauce for dipping.
