Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 salt and pepper to taste

1 package refrigerated pizza dough

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.

Season the Mixture: Stir in the Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Prepare Dough: Unroll the refrigerated pizza dough onto a floured surface. Stretch or roll the dough into a rectangle shape (about 12x14 inches).

Add Cheese and Beef Filling: Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle both the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top of the beef.

Roll the Stromboli: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll up the dough tightly into a log shape. Pinch the seams and ends to seal the Stromboli.

Add Egg Wash: Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden color.

Make Slits: Use a sharp knife to make a few diagonal slits on top of the Stromboli to allow steam to escape during baking.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
