Ingredients

1 box of vanilla cake mix

1 box of chocolate cake mix

1 (15 oz) can of chocolate frosting

1 (15 oz) can of vanilla frosting

1 (12 oz) package of vanilla sandwich cookies

1 (12 oz) package of gummy worms

Green food coloring

1 new, clean cat litter box and scoop (for presentation)

Instructions

Bake the Cakes: Prepare the vanilla and chocolate cake mixes according to the package directions. Divide the batter evenly between two 9-inch round cake pans and bake as instructed. Once done, allow them to cool completely.

Crumble the Cookies: While the cakes are cooling, place the sandwich cookies in a food processor and pulse them until finely crushed. Set aside about 1 cup of the crumbs for later decoration.

Prepare the Frosting: Mix the vanilla frosting and a few drops of green food coloring in a bowl to create a “litter” look. It should resemble a pale green shade.

Assemble the Cake: Once the cakes are cooled, crumble the chocolate cake into a large bowl. This will serve as the litter base. Layer half of the chocolate cake in the bottom of the clean cat litter box.

Frost the Cake: Spread a generous layer of chocolate frosting over the crumbled chocolate cake for added moisture and flavor. Then sprinkle a layer of the crushed vanilla cookies on top to simulate cat litter.

Add the Layers: Next, place the vanilla cake over the chocolate layer, breaking it up slightly to allow the layers to mix. Spread another layer of chocolate frosting followed by a sprinkling of more crushed cookies.

Decorate: Carefully place gummy worms on top, burying them into the crushed cookies to make them look like they are crawling through the litter.

Final Touches: Use the remaining vanilla frosting (colored green from earlier) to frost the top and edges of the cake lightly one last time. Sprinkle the remaining cookie crumbs on top and around sides.

Serve: Use the scoop to serve the cake in the litter box, presenting it as a quirky dessert at your next gathering.
