Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup water

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Make the caramel: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves. Allow it to cook without stirring until it reaches a golden amber color. Be careful not to let it burn. Pour the caramel into the bottom of a 12-cup muffin tin, swirling to coat the bottoms evenly.

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the batter: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until combined.

Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Prepare the flan mixture: In another bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and two eggs until smooth.

Layer the mixtures: Spoon the muffin batter over the caramel in each muffin cup, filling them about halfway. Then, carefully pour the flan mixture on top, filling each cup nearly to the rim.

Bake: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and unmold: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for about 10 minutes. To remove, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate. The caramel will drizzle down as you remove them.

Chill: For best results, let the muffins chill in the refrigerator for an hour before serving to set the flan completely.

                    Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes | Servings: 12

                      - Presentation Tips: Arrange the caramel flan muffins on a decorative plate, garnished with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream for an enticing dessert display.
