When selecting your breakfast sausage, consider the flavor profile that best suits your taste. Ingredients

1 pound breakfast sausage (casings removed)

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup diced green onions (optional)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain excess grease and remove from heat.

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, diced green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.

Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the dotted lines.

Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle.

Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle tightly toward the pointed end to form a crescent shape, tucking the ends slightly under to prevent filling from escaping.

Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with the beaten egg for a nice golden finish.

Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are spaced apart.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed.

Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
