1 large loaf of artisan bread (preferably French or Italian)

1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups provolone cheese, shredded

½ cup cream cheese, softened

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced sirloin, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.

      In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms (if using). Sauté until soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce, and cook for an additional minute. Return the cooked steak to the skillet and mix well, allowing the flavors to combine. Remove from heat.

        Cut the artisan bread in half lengthwise and hollow out some of the insides to create a bread bowl for the filling.

          In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with half of the shredded provolone cheese until well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the cut sides of the hollowed bread.

            Layer the steak and veggie mixture generously on top of the cream cheese. Sprinkle the remaining provolone evenly over the filling.

              Place the stuffed bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are crispy.

                Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before slicing.
