Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 cup chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 large eggs

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.

Add the ground beef (or turkey) to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, ricotta cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the cooked spaghetti to the cheese mixture and toss until well combined.

In a greased 9-inch pie dish or deep dish, layer half of the spaghetti mixture. Top with half of the meat sauce, then sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.

Allow the pie to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
