Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 large egg

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

4 hoagie rolls

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned on all sides.

Pour the marinara sauce over the browned meatballs in the skillet. Cover and let simmer on low for 10 minutes.

Carefully transfer the marinara and meatball mixture to an oven-safe dish, if necessary, or keep the skillet if it's oven-proof. Place hoagie rolls in the same genre, cut side up, around the meatballs.

Top each meatball with a generous amount of shredded mozzarella.

Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Serve by placing meatballs and sauce in the hoagie rolls.
