Ingredients

1.5 lbs beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 cup beef broth

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1 cup of heavy cream (for a creamy version)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Stove Top Method:

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Season the beef cubes with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

Brown the beef in the hot oil for about 4–5 minutes, turning occasionally. Once browned, remove the beef and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent (about 3–4 minutes). If using mushrooms, add them here and sauté until tender.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Sprinkle the flour over the onion mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, allowing the flour to cook slightly.

Slowly pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce while stirring to prevent lumps. Bring to a gentle simmer.

Return the beef to the skillet, stir well, and reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for 15–20 minutes until the beef is tender.

If you prefer a creamy gravy, stir in the heavy cream and allow it to heat through for another 5 minutes. Adjust seasonings as necessary.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley, over rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles.

                        Crock Pot Method:

In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Season the beef cubes with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder before browning them in batches (about 4–5 minutes).

Once browned, transfer the beef to the crock pot.

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. If using mushrooms, add them and cook until tender. Stir in garlic just until fragrant, then sprinkle with flour and cook for 1 minute before deglazing the pan with beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.

Pour the mixture over the beef in the crock pot. Add any additional beef broth needed to cover.

Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the beef is tender.

If desired, about 20 minutes before serving, stir in heavy cream for a richer gravy.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley, over your choice of sides.
