Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons black bean sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, minced

1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)

1 medium onion, sliced

1 cup snap peas

2 tablespoons scallions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked jasmine rice (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with black bean sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well until the beef is fully coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Sauté Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Cook the Beef: Increase the heat to high. Add the marinated beef to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry Vegetables: In the same skillet, add sliced onion and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender. Add the snap peas and continue to cook for another 2 minutes.

Combine: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables, tossing everything together thoroughly. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serve: Plate the beef in black bean sauce over a mound of fluffy jasmine rice, garnishing with chopped scallions. Enjoy your meal!
