Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup milk

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked ground beef (seasoned with salt and pepper)

2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).

Prepare Baking Dish: In a 9x13-inch baking dish, pour the melted butter, ensuring the bottom is generously coated.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the milk and shredded cheddar cheese until combined.

Create Dough: Pour the milk and cheese mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix; the dough will be thick.

Add Beef: Gently fold in the cooked ground beef until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop Biscuits: Using a large spoon or cookie scoop, drop dollops of the biscuit dough into the baking dish over the melted butter. Ensure you leave some space between each biscuit.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and cooked through.

Garnish: Once baked, remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped chives for an added pop of color and flavor, if desired.

Serve: Let them cool slightly, then serve warm straight from the dish for best enjoyment.
