Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

8 slices of bacon, cut in half

1/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Toothpicks, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

Preparation: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F). If using wooden toothpicks, soak them in water to prevent burning on the grill.

Marinating the Shrimp: In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Ensure the shrimp are evenly coated. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes for the flavors to meld.

Wrapping the Shrimp: Take a piece of bacon and wrap it around each shrimp, starting from the tail and overlapping as you go. Secure the ends of the bacon with a soaked toothpick. Repeat with all shrimp.

Grilling: Place the bacon-wrapped shrimp on the grill. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, brushing with BBQ sauce halfway through grilling. Make sure the shrimp turn opaque and the bacon becomes crispy.

Serving: Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the grill and let them rest for a minute. Serve warm with additional BBQ sauce for dipping.
