Ingredients

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon sriracha (or more to taste)

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded cabbage

1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes to tenderize.

Prepare Breading: In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Coat Shrimp: Remove shrimp from buttermilk. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip back into the buttermilk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.

Fry Shrimp: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make Bang Bang Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Adjust the hotness according to your taste.

Assemble Tacos: Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave. On each tortilla, add some shredded cabbage, a few pieces of crispy shrimp, and a drizzle of the Bang Bang sauce.

Garnish and Serve: Top with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side for a zesty kick.
