Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk mixed with 1/2 teaspoon vinegar)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

Zest of 1 lemon

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed and drained)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk together until well mixed.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, egg, lemon zest, and lemon juice until fully combined.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Fold in the blueberries gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. You can also use a piping bag for a cleaner fill.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

                  - Presentation Tips: Dust the cooled donuts with powdered sugar or glaze them with a simple lemon glaze (mix powdered sugar with lemon juice for desired consistency) for an extra touch. Arrange them on a decorative plate or platter and garnish with fresh blueberries and lemon slices for an inviting display.
