Ingredients

4 large croissants

8 slices of smoked ham

8 slices of Swiss cheese

½ cup Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mustard, honey, garlic powder, and black pepper to create a sweet and tangy sauce.

Cut each croissant in half lengthwise without separating the two sides completely.

Spread a generous amount of the mustard mixture on the inside of each croissant half.

Layer 2 slices of smoked ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.

Place the top half of the croissant back over the ham and cheese, gently pressing down to secure.

Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Garnish with chopped chives before serving.
