Ingredients

6 large buttery croissants

8 oz (225g) thinly sliced ham

8 oz (225g) Swiss cheese, sliced

3 large eggs

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh chives, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

Slice each croissant in half horizontally and lay the bottom halves in the baking dish.

Layer the ham evenly over the croissant bottoms, followed by the Swiss cheese.

Place the top halves of the croissants back on top to create sandwich-like layers.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the stacked croissants, allowing it to soak in. Let it rest for 10 minutes to absorb.

If desired, sprinkle additional Swiss cheese on top for a cheesy crust.

Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the croissants are golden and the filling is set.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing into individual portions.

Garnish with finely chopped chives for a fresh touch.

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve warm on a platter, garnished with extra chives and perhaps a side of mixed greens for a pop of color.
