Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1/2 cup ricotta cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup bread crumbs (preferably seasoned)

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, parsley, egg, garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix until well combined, but don’t overwork the meat to keep the meatballs tender.

Form the Meatballs: Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.

Heat the Marinara Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until it simmers.

Combine: Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and carefully transfer them into the saucepan with the marinara sauce. Gently stir to coat the meatballs in the sauce.

Serve: Plate the meatballs and sauce. Garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve warm, either on their own or over pasta, with some crusty bread on the side.

                Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 4
