2

peeled and diced apples (preferably Granny Smith)
1
tablespoon
sugar for cinnamon-sugar mixture
1
teaspoon
cinnamon for cinnamon-sugar mixture
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the batter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bars are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares for serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce for an indulgent treat.
