Ingredients

2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Pinch of salt

1 package of wonton wrappers (about 20-25)

Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: In a large bowl, combine the diced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a tablespoon of brown sugar. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the apples to release some juice.

Make the Crisp Topping: In a separate bowl, mix oats, remaining brown sugar, flour, melted butter, nuts (if using), and a pinch of salt until crumbly.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Assemble the Bites: Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the apple mixture in the center. Top with a small tablespoon of the crisp topping, then fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle shape, pressing the edges to seal. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter.

Bake: Arrange the assembled bites on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling slightly.

Serve: Let the Apple Crisp Bites cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
