Ingredients

1 cup water

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cooking spray

1/2 cup sugar (for coating)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Chocolate or caramel sauce (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.

Once boiling, remove from heat and add the flour all at once. Stir well with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes, then add the eggs and vanilla extract. Beat until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped tip. Pipe 4-6 inch long churros directly onto a piece of parchment paper or directly into the air fryer basket.

Lightly spray the churros with cooking spray to achieve a golden-brown color while cooking.

Air fry the churros in batches for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden and crispy, flipping halfway through the cooking time.

In a shallow bowl, mix the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar with the cinnamon. Once the churros are cooked, immediately toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while they are still warm.

Serve immediately with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping, if desired.
