Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup panko bread crumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon Sriracha (adjust for spice)

1 tablespoon lime juice

Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

In a medium bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for about 15-20 minutes. This will help tenderize the shrimp and create a creamy coating.

In another bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper together.

In a separate shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Remove the shrimp from the buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, ensuring each shrimp is well coated.

Next, dip the flour-coated shrimp back into the buttermilk, then transfer to the panko breadcrumbs, pressing down slightly to adhere the breadcrumbs.

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the breaded shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Spray lightly with cooking spray and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and lime juice to create the Bang Bang sauce. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Once the shrimp are done cooking, transfer them to a serving platter and drizzle with the Bang Bang sauce or toss them gently in the sauce for an even coating.

Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.
